Bhavali Dam, is an earthfill dam on Bham river near Igatpuri, Nashik district in state of Maharashtra in India. Bhavali Dam is located near village Bhavali on Darana river tributary of Godavari river.


The height of the dam above lowest foundation is 33.97 m (111.5 ft) while the length is 1,550 m (5,090 ft). The volume content is 329 km3 (79 cu mi) and gross storage capacity is 75,050.00 km3 (18,005.45 cu mi).

Ashoka Waterfalls

Located Near Kasara Vihigaon Waterfall is famously known as Ashoka Waterfall. A song sequence from the movie Ashoka was filmed at this waterfall. Vihi Waterfall is located 12 km from Kasara. We took early morning train till Kasara Railway Station from Dadar we reached Kasara around 9.00 am. There are many Jeep Taxi available from Kasara Railway Station to reach Vihi Waterfall. Jeep are priced reasonably can accommodate upto 10 to 12 people easily.


Vihigaon waterfall located in heavily forested area waterfall is mesmerizing. Vihi Waterfall is very popular for waterfall rappelling many tourists now visit it. Vihi Waterfall (Ashoka Waterfall) is just 5 minutes away from car parking. Local Gram Panchayat is collecting modest entry fee and car parking fee. Vihigaon is very beautiful with a small stream and many check dams feeding the waterfall, rice fields and green grass and small mountains surround this beautiful village.

Tringalwadi Fort

Tringalwadi fort is located in the Igatpuri taluka of Nashik district. It is located on the ancient trade route passing through Thal ghat. The fort is located near village Tringalwadi. The Tringalwadi irrigation dam which is close to the village was built in 1978.


The village Tringalwadi is located 7 km from Igatpuri. Igatpuri is located on Mumbai-nashik Railway route as well as National Highway NH 160. There are two routes to reach the village Tringalwadi from Igatpuri first one passes through Igatpuri town and the other is by taking a northern exit to NH160 at Ghoti, further passing through village Balayaduri. The Tringalwadi fort is located on a hill which runs north-south. It is a mesa rock formation. The climb is very easy and takes about 30 minutes to reach the top of the fort from the village.

Kalsubai (Marathi: कळसूबाई शिखर) is a mountain in the Western Ghats, located in the Indian state of Maharashtra. Its summit, situated at an elevation of 1,646 metres (5,400 ft), is the highest point in Maharashtra.


The mountain range lies within the Kalsubai Harishchandragad Wildlife Sanctuary. It is visited throughout the year by avid trekkers, Kalsubai temple devotees and wildlife enthusiasts alike.


Kalsubai comes to be protected under the precincts of a sanctuary. It nurtures nature in the vast stretches of forests nestled along their slopes and valleys. Open high-altitude forests dominate the scene. In the post-monsoon period, the region witnesses a dramatic makeover with flowers of different colors and varieties blossoming along the landscape. This attracts a hoard of butterflies, bees, dragon-flies, and other insects to feed upon the precious nectar.

Bhandardara Dam

Bhandardara is a holiday resort village near Igatpuri, in the western ghats of India. The village is located in the Akole tehsil, Ahmednagar district of the state of Maharashtra, about 185 kilometers (115 mi) from Mumbai and 155 kilometers (96 mi) from Ahmednagar.


Bhandardara sits by the Pravara River, and the natural environment, waterfalls, mountains, Wilson dam, Arthur lake and Randha falls are tourist attractions.


There are number of historic and natural places of interest near the dam. From Bhandardara, visitors can climb up to see the Ratangad and Harishchandragad fort. Or, visitors can follow the trails that lead to Ajoba and Ghanchakkar peaks. The highest peak in Maharashtra, Mount Kalsubai is 1646 m, and the starting point for this trek is Bari Village, located 12 km away from Bhandardara.

Amruteshwar Temple

Amruteshwar Temple is an intricately carved Shiva temple located in Ratanwadi this Temple is over 1200 years old. This beautiful Temple was built by the rulers of Shilahara dynasty in 9th century CE. This is one of 12 Lord Shiva temples built by King Jhanj.


Built in 11th century AD, it is dedicated to Lord Shiva. Constructed in a distinct Hemadpanti style, the temple is surrounded by lush green fields and Mount Kalsubai the highest mountain in Maharashtra. From here a further excursion leads to the Ratangad Fort. One can access this temple by road or an 8 km boat ride on Arthur Lake.
